I can’t believe its Friday already!   Leave a comment

I can’t believe its Friday already.  Seems like just yesterday was Monday!!

We have had a pretty great week this week.  Nothing to spectacular happened, but sometimes its nice to have a slow week at home.

We spent a lot of time outside this week playing. Its been so nice to enjoy this spring weather, which is really more like summer weather.  I mean, I’m not complaining but it was 70-80 degrees here this week!! And its only March! I’m not looking forward to the “cold spell” we are going to have this coming weekend, into next week.  I guess I shouldn’t complain tho, its not like its a real cold spell, just the regular temps for us for this time of year.

The boys had play group this past Wednesday.  I can’t believe that they only have 2.5 more months of play group before we they are to old for it.  It only runs from September thru June. So when it starts up again in the fall, the boys will be going to school instead!  Which I still can’t believe that my babies are old enough to go to school, seems like just yesterday we were being told that there was a 50% chance that we would be bringing one of them home from the hospital.  Guess we really beat the odds there.  you would never know by looking at them that they are former 26 week babies!

We are heading out of town next weekend for a quick visit with my parents. Actually having an early Easter egg hunt for the boys! Will be fun and I’m happy we are doing it, since we have the big kids for Easter so my Mom can’t come up.

So this weekend we have the older kids.  I’m hoping that we have a good weekend with them, but only time will tell.  We really don’t have anything to spectacular planned so its just going to be a lazy weekend around the house.
I have two goals for this weekend: the first is to get my clothes line hung up outside, not really a goal for myself but my husband and my second goal is to get some more spring cleaning done! I’m sick of the clutter that has accumulated since winter!! Time to clean it up!

Hope you all have a GREAT weekend!! I’ll be back Monday with another post!

things I love…   Leave a comment

So yesterday my post was about the things that bug me.  So I figured I would follow that post up with this post about the things I love.  I think this one will be a little longer! So here it goes:

  • I am loving the fact that my boys are in bed and asleep by 6:45 and they have been sleeping until 7:30/8:00 o’clock! (of course now that I have said that out loud, it will go down hill I’m sure)
  • I love that we didn’t get much snow this winter.  I think we had maybe 6 snow storms, all of which didn’t account for much snow!
  • I love that winter is over.
  • I love that is was 51 degrees this morning when we woke up!
  • I am loving this spring weather, there’s nothing better.
  • The boys and I planted marigold seeds on Saturday, and they have started growing already! I love seeing the boys get excited that their flowers are growing.
  • My Mom planted tulip bulbs for me last fall and I love that they have already started coming up! I’ve never had tulips before, always wanted them, but never had them.
  • Believe it or not, I am loving the chance to get some spring cleaning done. We have cleaned up the yard and the porch, now I am on to inside.  I am going to get rid of all the clutter and try to keep it picked up.
  • I am looking forward to going out-of-town next weekend with the husband and the boys! We are heading to my Mom’s for the weekend, I can’t wait to see family and friends we haven’t seen in a while!
  • I love that we have had the furnace turned down (almost off) and the windows open a lot lately!! Such a nice feeling!

I think that’s about it, although I am sure I am missing something! I’ll try to come up with another blog post tomorrow.  Its kinda fun to keep track of things this way and keep them written down!

Things that bug me   Leave a comment

So there are so many things lately that are bugging me, I figure maybe if I write them down, they wont bother me as much…I can hope that it works anyway.

  • When people don’t return your call.  I hate having to wait forever for people to call me back. Especially if its something for one of my boys.  How hard is it to pick the phone up and call.
  • When people can’t acknowledge that they have gotten your text message.  I mean is it to hard to just reply a simple k? At least that way I would know you got the messages I am sending instead of having to guess.  And I don’t want to re send the message either, that is just pointless since you don’t answer the first one.
  • When the boys whine for no reason what so ever!! Makes me think that they are tired, even if its first thing in the morning. Ethan has been sent back to bed more than once because he was whining before he got down the stairs. It’s amazing that after he get a little more rest he won’t whine so much.
  • Living in the middle of nowhere is really bugging me lately.  I mean sure its nice and I do LOVE living in a small town. But there’s nothing for my kids and I to do during the week or even the weekends.  I have to drive about 50 miles just to get to walmart!
  • The local elementary school where the boys will start pre-k in the fall has 19 kids signed up, which isn’t a big deal. However, they are splitting the group up, and I’m hoping I can convince them to put the boys in the same group. I want them together in school. Maybe if we had 2 kindergarten classes I would split them, but since they will be together every year after pre-k, why would I want to split them up their first time being away from me for school?
  • It really bugs me when people say to me “well if your almost 4-year-old weights over 50 pounds he must be getting pretty fat.” This bugs me to no end. Yes, he is a big boy, however, he’s not fat. They fail to realize that while he is a 51.5 pounds, he is also 3 feet 7 inches tall.  Not all kids that are big for their age are “fat.”
  • House work is really bugging me lately. With all this nice weather I just want to spend my time outside playing with my kids. I mean after all, housework will always be there, the kids won’t always be little.
  • I hate that I don’t have a clothes line up outside.  I love to hang my clothes outside to dry. Depending on the dryer for all our clothes is driving me nuts! Guess I’ll have to get the husband to put up a new clothes line this weekend!
  • The DVR has decided that it doesn’t always want to record the shows that we ask it to. I mean it acts like it is recording them, but all we get is a black screen. Good thing we can get most of the shows we record on demand too.

I think that’s about it. I’m sure that there are more things that bug me then that, but honestly that’s all I can come up with right now! I’ll have to post a “things I love” blog tomorrow! That one will be much longer I bet!

The things my boys say and do…   Leave a comment

So I know one of my last posts was about what the boys say, but they seem to be coming up with new things every day and this is one of my ways of keeping track of what is being said and done. So hopefully I’m not boring anyone, but if I am, I’m sorry!

The other day we were getting ready to have lunch and I gave Ethan his plate.  He said “thank you Mama” I said “your welcome” he looked at me in disbelieve and started crying and said “but I told you thank you!” this went on for a few minutes, I think he thought I was upset with him for saying the wrong thing. Or not saying the right thing I guess.

Another thing Ethan is saying when he gets in trouble is “you not nice Mama, you make me cry” which just about breaks my heart but I think he is beginning to understand that he can’t do some of the things he is doing.  Once he calms down he says “i sorry you made me cry Mama, be nice next time.”

The boys favorite thing to do lately is to play pretend.  Which i absolutely adore.  I love listening to the boys play and act out things from their favorite TV shows.  On the list of things that they are playing are: Octonautes, the three little pigs, Crocadator hunting (this is from the show Swamp People which is one of my husbands favorites) and pirates.  It amazes me the great detail that they go into for all of their “acting.”  They are growing up way to fast!

Nathan has been making me laugh non-stop! When he was potty training, I guess I got in the habit of telling him that he was a big boy and doing a great job when he went potty.  Well aparently every time my husband goes to the bathroom, if Nathan is with him, he gives my husband a pat of the butt and says “good job Daddy, what a big boy you being, Mama will be so proud!”  I didn’t realize the was doing this until my husband told me the other day.

We don’t go out to eat all that often, mostly because the closest restaurants are about an hour away, but we get takeout usually once a week from the Pizza shop right here in Jonesport.  Last Friday after Nathan and I dropped Ethan off for speech, Nathan said “Mama lets go get a hamburger for supper” I explained to him that it wasn’t supper time, it was only 9am and that maybe we could have hamburgers for supper that night.  He seemed ok with that, and as soon as we started talking about supper he kindly reminded me that I had promised him a hamburger.

I’m not sure how it started, but for a while now, Nathan has been calling Chicken Burgers a hamburger.  And when we correct him he gets mad and cries about it.  The boy will not eat hamburgers, in fact when we give them to him he has a huge fit!

I think that’s about it for now, but I’ll be sure to post again with more things they are saying or doing soon!
